An audiology business in Glasgow is spotlighting general manager Elaine Sweeney, who brings three decades of fashion retail expertise and a proven track record in audiology management.
Elaine, the general manager at Specsavers Trongate Hearing Hub, has been a familiar face across retail, spending 30 years of her career in fashion. However, for the past two years she has spent her time ensuring customers’ hearing needs are satisfied through effective store management.
She says: ‘Whilst it was always a thrill to put a perfect outfit together and help give customers confidence to go to their special events, I now help make a difference to customers hearing. Being able to give customers the ability to hear their families, or to simply enjoy the joys of everyday life, is what makes the role even more rewarding.’
The role of a general manager involves overseeing the entire customer lifecycle, this includes ensuring team members provide a welcoming environment, and that the transition from a hearing check to a device fitting is seamless.
Elaine continues: ‘We revamped everything from the walk in first impression to simplifying the language used in the test room. It has been our goal to deliver a memorable experience that is unique to each client – a five-star service that feels fabulous to deliver and receive.’
