Glasgow wellness concept Yoga in the Dark has officially launched Scotland’s first-ever yoga experience featuring red light therapy as part of an exclusive new residency at Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel & Spa.

Building on the hotel’s existing wellness offering, the launch of The Red Edit marks a first for Scotland as growing numbers of young adults are opting for health-led experiences as a new way to socialise.

With the new residency combining popular wellness rituals such as red-light therapy – loved by A-listers such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Hudson – along with guided movement, breathwork and serene spa rituals rolled into one, the experience has been created to help guests slow down, reconnect and reset in an increasingly overstimulating world.

Taking place within the hotel’s premium event and meeting space, Monte Carlo, and as part of selected spa experiences within the Spa at Blythswood Square, The Red Edit reflects changing social habits across the UK. Research suggests searches for “red light yoga” have surged by 400 per cent year-on-year, while “red light therapy” now receives around 2,900 monthly searches in Scotland alone.

Known for its regenerating effects on the skin, light therapy users have also reported additional benefits, including improved sleep quality, reduced inflammation and mood and stress reduction.

Marcello Ventisei, General Manager at the hotel, said: “We’re always looking to bring innovative and experience-led wellness concepts to our iconic hotel and spa, and partnering with Yoga in the Dark to launch Scotland’s first-ever red light-based yoga experience feels like a natural fit.

“The Red Edit offers something completely unique for both the hotel and the city and celebrates a growing shift towards wellness-led social experiences that improve both the mind and body.”

Yoga in the Dark Founders Scarlett Williams and Clare Maclean said: “We’re incredibly excited to bring The Red Edit to Kimpton Blythswood and of course to launch Scotland’s first-ever yoga experience of this kind in such an iconic setting.

“From the beginning, our vision was to create a space where people could slow down, reconnect and genuinely switch off. It’s also a social experience without pressure, designed for those seeking connection, wellbeing and a meaningful way to spend their evening whilst recalibrating after a long day.”

The experience blends movement, breathwork and heat-based recovery rituals designed to support relaxation, recovery and improved sleep. Yoga in the Dark’s existing partnership with Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel & Spa has already seen a series of successful sell-out events, centred around immersive wellness experiences and community-led movement. The Red Edit enhances that offering further, introducing a fresh concept designed around connection, atmosphere and red light therapy.

Prices for The Red Edit, starting Friday, June 19 from 6.30-9.30pm be booked for £135 here: https://bookwhen.com/yogainthedark
