Camden High Street was a buzz of activity with all sights set on health and wellbeing when local opticians attended the launch event of PureGym London Camden High Street.

To mark the occasion the team from Specsavers Camden Town were on hand to offer new members tips on eye health, protecting their eyes in high UV and managing dry eyes as a result of pollen and pollution.

Adeeya Hashim, ophthalmic director said: ‘We’re delighted to be able to support PureGym London Camden High Street on its opening day. We’ve been part of the community for the last 25 years, so I am sure that some of the new members will also be customers of ours too.

‘It’s a great opportunity to meet everyone, including the PureGym team and outline the various services we offer, including contact lens fittings and hearing checks. We wish the team every success!’

New joiners and visitors to PureGym London Camden High Street were given a Specsavers Tote Bag with lots of goodies including sight test vouchers, trolley tokens and note pads.

Store supervisor at Specsavers Camden, Simone Wiltshire adds: ‘Everyone is very excited to have this facility on their doorstep, along with the very latest training equipment and studio offering a variety of different classes.’

With its 24/7 training experience, PureGym London Camden High Street offers its members a dedicated cycling and fitness studio, a brand-new Shape area, resistance training and free weight zones – so fitness training to suit individual preferences. The gym facilities also include a dedicated work out area for women.

In addition to offering sight and hearing checks, Specsavers Camden offers enhanced clinical services, including MECS (Minor Eye Condition Services) such as dry eyes and red eyes and CUES (Community Urgent Eyecare Service).

There are four consulting rooms, one diagnostic testing area and a contact lens station offering enhanced facilities to customers. The store also offers a dedicated soundproof audiology room.

Specsavers recommends that adults have an eye test at least every two years, while children should have their eyes tested annually. NHS-funded eye tests are available for those who qualify, including all children under 16 and young people under 19 in full-time education.
