Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel & Spa, Glasgow's only AA-accredited five-star hotel, is now home to a captivating new exhibition by internationally acclaimed Scottish artist Stuart McAlpine Miller, with the collection on display throughout the property's elegant interiors.
Titled ‘REiMAGINED,’ Miller’s collection showcases and forms part of the city hotel’s ongoing artist exhibition programme, which celebrates Scotland’s creative talent through a rotating showcase of emerging and established artists.
Miller’s distinctive oil paintings combine figurative art, Pop Art influences and illusionary layering, creating contemporary works filled with colour, nostalgia and visual intrigue.
His trademark paintings – often featuring striking female figures including the late singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse – are intertwined with colourful, nostalgic references and have earned him a cult following across the UK and internationally, including collectors in New York and Hong Kong.
Bringing together contemporary Scottish artistry and the hotel’s historic surroundings, McAlpine Miller’s captivating works will be showcased throughout the iconic staircase and Salon Bar, where his paintings will provide a visually immersive addition to the property’s evolving gallery experience.
He said: “I’m thrilled to be showcasing my work at Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel and to be part of its ongoing celebration of Scottish creativity. The hotel’s combination of historic character and contemporary style provides a beautiful setting for my paintings, and I’m excited for guests and visitors to experience the collection within such a unique and inspiring environment.
“Art has the ability to create connections, spark memories and invite people to see familiar surroundings in a new way, and I hope these works bring a sense of discovery and enjoyment to everyone who encounters them.”
McAlpine Miller joins Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel’s growing exhibition programme, which transforms the hotel’s elegant interiors into an evolving gallery experience, inviting guests and visitors to discover new work throughout the property.
