Explore Worldwide, B Corp-certified small-group adventure travel operator, has teamed up with Strava, one of the world's leading fitness tracking apps, to launch a limited-time Walk & Win Madeira Challenge. Available in the Strava app beginning 24 May, the week-long challenge runs until 30 May, 2026. Participants must complete roughly 12 kilometers (7.5 miles ) – by walking, hiking, running, or cycling – for a chance to win a trip on one of Explore's most popular itineraries: the eight-day Walking in Madeira tour.
The challenge distance mirrors the first day of Explore's Walking in Madeira itinerary, giving participants a preview of one of the Atlantic's most scenic destinations. The itinerary takes travellers through coastal cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and sweeping views along iconic routes like Ponta de São Lourenço, earning Madeira its nickname, the 'Pearl of the Atlantic.’
The tour package, valued at £1,750, includes accommodation for one adult on the seven-night tour, as well as ground transportation and meals and activities as listed in the itinerary, all led by an experienced Explore Tour Leader. The winner will also receive £800 to spend on flights. One winner will be selected from all valid entries by 12 June 2026. The prize must be booked with Explore by 31 December 2026, and is subject to availability for tours departing by 31 December 2027.
The challenge is open to Strava users in the UK, Australia, Canada and the United States. One winner will be chosen globally. No special gear or equipment is required. Participants can log their progress in the app across any combination of walks, hikes, runs, or cycles throughout the week.
All participants who complete the challenge will unlock an additional discount of 20% off any Explore tour. Tours must be booked directly through the website or through a certified travel agent using the promotional code between 30 May and 31 July 2026, to qualify.
