A team of Glasgow-based opticians have thanked the community for their support after raising more than £500 for the charity, UNICEF.
Matthew Joy, Ryan Chan, Rebekah O’Donnell and Ishbel Fraser from Specsavers Glasgow Forge took part in the Great Scottish Run earlier this month to raise funds for the humanitarian organisation, which provides urgent aid to children facing conflict worldwide.
The quartet successfully completed the 10K race in an average time of just under one hour, raising £530 in the process.
Matthew Joy, general manager at Specsavers Glasgow Forge, says: ‘We just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported us, from our families and friends to our amazing customers at Glasgow Forge.
‘Knowing that the money we’ve raised will help children in crisis through UNICEF really kept us motivated throughout the run.
‘It means a lot to be part of such a caring community that always gets behind good causes, and we’re so grateful for everyone’s generosity and encouragement.’
