We've proudly supported The British Citizen Award and the British Citizen Youth Award since they first launched, and last week’s ceremony marked the 9th year of celebrating young changemakers across the UK.
The British Citizen Award recognises citizens who have performed great acts of courage, bravery or selflessness that have had a meaningful impact on society. Similarly, the British Citizen Youth Award celebrates the remarkable contributions of young people within their communities.
Our CEO, Laurna, presented the British Citizen Youth Medals to some of these incredible young people alongside Dame Mary Perkins, Patron of the BCYAs and Co-Founder of Specsavers, who sponsor the awards. From fundraising for cancer charities and supporting mental health initiatives to protecting the planet and helping local communities in creative ways, each story was as inspiring as the next. It's a privilege to help share their stories locally and spotlight the next generation of community heroes.
