The audiology team at Glasgow Fort is marking World Hearing Day (3rd March 2026) by hosting a community event at Rutherglen Bowling Club to promote better ear health and provide expert support to locals in the area.
Both members and non-members of the Bowling Club are invited to join the team between 2pm and 4pm for an afternoon of professional advice, refreshments, and live entertainment. The event aims to break the stigma around hearing loss by offering a relaxed, social environment for locals to discuss their hearing health.
The afternoon will begin with a 10-minute introduction from audiologists Robyn Mitchell and Anu Byju who will outline the modern hearing services now available at Glasgow Fort Hearing Hub. Anu, who is based at the Specsavers Glasgow Fort Hearing Hub, will be on hand throughout the day to provide free hearing checks for attendees, professional hearing device trials allowing guests to experience the latest technology firsthand, and provide expert consultations on ear wax removal services.
To provide an atmosphere, the event will also feature a 30-minute set from professional singer Lucy Bonner. Attendees can enjoy complimentary cake and coffee while mingling with the team, including Specsavers team members Lucy Bonner and Dianne Robertson, who will also be available to answer questions and chat with guests.
In addition to the free clinical services, those attending the event will receive a range of gifts and incentives, including money-off vouchers for future audiology services.
