At Tigerbond, we believe that small changes can make a big difference, especially when it comes to caring for our planet. That’s why, in partnership with Grow Uddingston, we’ve launched a corporate composting initiative to tackle organic waste from local restaurants and offices and transform it into nutrient-rich compost.

The goal? To create a sustainable waste management system that benefits both businesses and the environment.

“Like many workplaces, we noticed how much food waste we were producing and how little of it could be recycled through existing corporate waste services. The solution was simple,  if the service didn’t exist, we’d make it ourselves. Now, our office kitchen has its own compost caddy, where food scraps are collected before being combined with green and brown matter in our garden composter,” said Elspeth Brown, Operations Director.

Once ready, the compost is passed on to the Grow Uddingston team, who use it to enrich the soil in community garden beds throughout the village.

It’s a small cycle, but one that’s already creating big benefits, reducing landfill waste, nourishing local green spaces, and helping our community grow, one peel and coffee ground at a time.
