It’s National Opportunity Day - a moment to shine a light on real career journeys, and the doors that open when passion meets possibility. We sat down with Nicole, a member of our social team, to hear how a university placement turned into a full-time role doing work she genuinely enjoys.
From scouting trends and building campaigns to making connections with influencers, her journey is proof that sometimes, the next step in your career is just one message away.
What first drew you to apply for an internship here?
I studied International Fashion Branding at Glasgow Caledonian University, mainly exploring marketing. As part of my work placement module and based on my study experience, I approached Tigerbond for a hands-on approach to agency life. I was impressed by their case studies, level of expertise, and opportunities available for creatives.
What made you decide to stay on after the internship ended?
Finding a career that genuinely excites you can feel like a major milestone. For me, that moment came when I joined the social media team as an intern. It felt like a significant step in the right direction, as it allowed me to participate in campaigns, support on content shoots, and even create content and source talent.
What made reaching out about career opportunities so seamless was that these responsibilities aligned perfectly with my interests that I was already doing in my free time, like keeping up with the latest social media trends and "break the internet" stories. It’s a job where scrolling through WGSN, Business of Fashion, and Famous Campaigns on and off the clock is all part of staying on top of my game.
How has your role changed over the past 3 years?
In my career, I've had the opportunity to cover all areas of social media marketing, which allowed me to discover my passion for Influencer Marketing. My experience includes managing influencer events, executing gifted and paid cross-platform campaigns, establishing brand ambassador partnerships, and providing database training for my team.
How would you describe the team culture in three words?
Positive, collaborative, supportive.
What advice would you give someone thinking of applying for an internship here?
Reach out to people on LinkedIn who work at the companies you're interested in. Learn about their roles and the company culture. Express your genuine interest, explaining why you are passionate about interning and how your unique skills and background make you a great candidate.
